This Privacy Policy explains how Caption Generator ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the app.

Information We Process
When you use AI caption generation, we process:
• The image you select for caption generation • Your selected prompt settings, such as language and caption category • Technical request metadata needed to complete the AI request (for example request timing and service response status)
We process this information only to generate caption results for you.
AI Processing and Consent
Before your first AI generation request, the app asks for your consent to send your selected image and prompt settings to Sami AI Gateway (sami-ai-gateway.sami-apps.workers.dev) for AI processing.
By accepting, you understand:
• AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate in some cases • You are responsible for reviewing generated captions before using or sharing them
Data Storage on Device
Caption Generator stores the following locally on your device:
• Saved captions • Caption history and optional thumbnail previews • App preferences (for example theme, language, caption type, and consent state) • Subscription entitlement status synced from Apple StoreKit (whether Caption Gen Pro is active)
We do not use this local data for profiling or advertising personalization.
Subscriptions and Purchases (Caption Gen Pro)
Caption Generator offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called Caption Gen Pro through Apple’s In-App Purchase system.
If you subscribe or start a free trial:
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account through the App Store • We do not collect or store your full payment card number, billing address, or Apple ID password • Apple processes the purchase and may share limited purchase status with the app so Pro features can unlock on your device • Subscription status is verified with StoreKit (for example active plan and renewal state) • Pro features may include unlimited generations, removal of ads, and access to Pro-only caption styles, as described in the paywall
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Apple’s terms also apply to your purchase.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
Data is shared only as needed to operate core features:
• Sami AI Gateway (sami-ai-gateway.sami-apps.workers.dev), our third-party AI processor, to generate captions from your request • AI inference providers used by Sami AI Gateway, including OpenRouter, GitHub Models, and Hugging Face, to return caption output • Apple (StoreKit / App Store) for subscription purchase, restore, and entitlement verification • Platform share targets only when you choose to use the Share action
We do not use your submitted image or prompt settings for advertising.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local engagement notifications on your device.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
Third-Party Services
The app may use third-party infrastructure for functionality such as:
• AI request processing via Sami AI Gateway (sami-ai-gateway.sami-apps.workers.dev) • Remote configuration via Firebase Remote Config (Google) • App analytics via Firebase Analytics (Google) • Crash and stability reporting via Firebase Crashlytics (Google) • Advertising delivery via Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) for free users when ads are enabled • Apple StoreKit for Caption Gen Pro subscriptions and restore purchases • Operational alert email delivery via Resend (for gateway failure notifications) • App platform services (Apple APIs)
Each third-party service may process limited technical or purchase-related data according to its own privacy policy.
When ads are enabled, Google Mobile Ads SDK may process device and ad-request data needed to deliver and measure ads, subject to Google’s policies. Pro subscribers typically do not see ads while entitlements remain active.
For operational reliability, gateway failure alerts may include limited request excerpts (for example a short prompt preview) in internal alert emails.
Data Retention
• Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app • Text-only AI requests may be cached in gateway infrastructure for up to 7 days to improve reliability and performance • Image-based requests are not cached by the app’s gateway layer • Aggregated operational usage counters may be stored (for example request totals by app, model source, and request type) • Analytics and crash reports may be retained by Google Firebase according to Google’s retention settings • Subscription records are retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies; the app keeps only the entitlement state needed to unlock Pro features • AI request content is retained only as necessary for service operation, reliability, and abuse prevention by the relevant AI processing infrastructure
Children's Privacy
Caption Generator is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can address the issue.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data in transit and during service operation. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International Transfers
Depending on service infrastructure, data may be processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
Your Choices
You can:
• Decline AI consent by not proceeding with generation • Delete locally saved captions/history from the app • Disable notifications in device settings • Manage or cancel Caption Gen Pro in App Store subscription settings • Restore purchases from Settings if you reinstall or change devices • Uninstall the app to remove local app data
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. The latest version is also published at the online policy link above.
