3. Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories. Exact collection depends on which features you use and the permissions you grant.

3.1 Information you provide

  • Support communications: If you email us (for example at sami.ios798@gmail.com), we receive your email address, message content, and any attachments you send.

  • Account / sign-in information (if enabled): If you create or sign into an account (for example via Firebase Authentication / Sign-In), we may process identifiers such as an account ID, email address, authentication tokens, and profile information you choose to provide.

  • User preferences and content you save in the App: Examples may include language, theme, selected reciter, bookmarks, reading progress, checklists, notification preferences, and similar settings.

3.2 Information collected automatically

Depending on device permissions and feature usage, the App may process:

  • Device information: Device model, OS version, app version, language/locale, time zone, and general device diagnostics.

  • App usage / diagnostics: Crash logs, performance data, feature interaction events, funnel/analytics events, and error reports (via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics when enabled).

  • Remote configuration: Non-personal feature flags (for example whether ads or the paywall are enabled) via Firebase Remote Config.

  • Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, Apple / Firebase Cloud Messaging may process a device push token to deliver alerts (for example prayer, reminder, or product-related notices).

  • Approximate or precise location (only if you grant permission): Used for location-based features such as prayer times and/or Qibla direction. You can deny or revoke this permission in iOS Settings.

  • Purchase / subscription status: Entitlement state for premium features (active, expired, restored), product identifiers (for example weekly / monthly / yearly / lifetime), and transaction metadata necessary to unlock paid content. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. Apple processes payments.

  • Advertising identifiers / ad interaction data (when ads are shown): If you are not subscribed to Premium, the App may show ads served by Google AdMob. Ad networks may process device advertising identifiers (subject to iOS privacy controls), IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and ad performance events (impressions, clicks). Premium subscribers do not see ads.

3.3 Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories such as:

  • Full payment card numbers, CVV, or complete Apple ID passwords

  • Precise health/medical records

  • Government ID numbers

  • Sensitive religious profiling beyond features you choose to use inside a faith app

Religious content in the App is product content, not a request for personal faith data.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate the App (Quran / Hadith / Azkar / Dua features, preferences, sync where available)

  • Deliver notifications you opt into

  • Enable location-based features you authorize

  • Process, renew, restore, and verify In-App Purchases and subscriptions via Apple (including unlocking ad-free Premium)

  • Show or hide advertisements based on Remote Config and your Premium entitlement

  • Authenticate users if account / sign-in is used

  • Improve stability and quality (bugs, crashes, performance, analytics)

  • Respond to support requests

  • Comply with law, App Store rules, and enforce our Terms of Use

  • Prevent fraud / abuse related to purchases and account misuse

We do not sell your personal information.

5.1 Payment processing

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit.

We do not collect or store your credit / debit card details. Apple may share limited purchase information with us (for example product ID, purchase date, subscription status, and receipt / transaction identifiers) so we can unlock and verify entitlements.

  • Original transaction identifiers / StoreKit entitlement data

5.4 How to manage or cancel subscriptions

Subscriptions purchased through Apple are managed by Apple:

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period (per Apple’s subscription rules). Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies.

  • Push notification delivery infrastructure

  • Device security / OS privacy controls

Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

7.3 Google AdMob (advertising)

If ads are enabled (Remote Config) and you are not a Premium subscriber, the App may display banner, interstitial, rewarded, and/or app-open ads via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

AdMob / Google may collect and process data as described in Google’s policies, including advertising identifiers where permitted by iOS.

Premium users: ads are not shown while a valid subscription or lifetime purchase is active.

7.4 Content / audio / mapping providers (if used)

If the App loads Quran text, translations, recitation audio, prayer-calculation data, or maps from third-party APIs / CDNs, those providers may receive technical requests (IP address, device / user-agent, and requested resource). We use such providers only to deliver App features.

8. Tracking, advertising, and App Tracking Transparency

  • The App may show personalized or non-personalized ads via AdMob for non-Premium users, subject to Google’s and Apple’s rules.

  • We do not sell personal data.

  • If we use tracking that requires Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT), we will request permission and keep App Store privacy labels accurate.

  • You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising).

9. Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where required by law, we process personal data based on:

  • Contract: to provide the App and purchased / subscribed features

  • Consent: notifications, location, optional analytics / sign-in / tracking where required

  • Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, basic service improvement, showing ads to non-subscribers

  • Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws and lawful requests

10. Data sharing

We may share information only:

  • With service providers (Apple, Google / Firebase / AdMob, hosting / support tools) under contractual / processing limits

  • With authorities if required by law or valid legal process

  • In a business transfer (merger, acquisition, asset sale), with continued protection commitments

  • With your direction / consent

We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless disclosed and consented where required.

11. Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above:

  • Support emails: retained as needed to resolve your request, then deleted / archived per normal inbox practices

  • Account data: retained while the account is active; deleted or anonymized after deletion request where feasible

  • Purchase / subscription records: retained as needed for entitlement validation, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance (Apple also retains its own billing records)

  • Logs / diagnostics / analytics: retained for a limited period unless needed longer for security / legal reasons

  • Ad-related data: retained by ad partners per their policies

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data (for example encrypted transport via HTTPS / TLS where applicable, restricted access, and reliance on Apple / Google security controls).

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please protect your device passcode / biometrics and Apple ID.

13. Children’s privacy

The App may be used by families and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) for the purpose of knowingly collecting personal information from children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact sami.ios798@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Parents / guardians should supervise In-App Purchases using Apple’s Ask to Buy / Screen Time controls.

14. International data transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country (including services operated by Apple and Google). Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards provided by those platforms and applicable law.

15. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on your location (for example GDPR / CCPA / UK GDPR), you may have rights to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete data (subject to legal / purchase record exceptions)

  • Restrict or object to certain processing

  • Withdraw consent (where processing is consent-based)

  • Data portability (where applicable)

  • Opt out of sale / sharing (we do not sell personal data)

How to exercise rights: email sami.ios798@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and include:

  • Your name

  • Apple ID email used for purchases (if relevant)

  • Device type / app version (if known)

  • Description of your request

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Device-level choices:

  • Revoke location / notification permissions in iOS Settings

  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple Subscriptions settings

  • Use Restore Purchases in the App for the same Apple ID

  • Subscribe to Premium to remove ads

  • Delete the App to stop on-device local data collection by the App

16. Do Not Track

The App does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals because it is a native mobile application. Use iOS privacy controls and in-app permission settings instead.

17. Data deletion / account deletion

If the App offers accounts:

  • You may request account deletion by emailing sami.ios798@gmail.com

  • We will delete or anonymize account-linked personal data within a reasonable period, except data we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or financial / subscription compliance reasons

If the App stores data only on-device, uninstalling the App removes local App data from that device (subject to iOS backups you control).

Note: Canceling a subscription or deleting the App does not automatically refund past charges. Refunds are handled by Apple.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes (including subscriptions, analytics, ads, or new features).

We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice in the App or App Store listing. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy, to the extent permitted by law.

19. App Store disclosures

In addition to this Policy, we provide App Privacy details in App Store Connect (nutrition labels). Those disclosures should be read together with this Policy.

For auto-renewable subscriptions, Apple requires:

  • Clear subscription terms in the App and App Store metadata

  • A functional Privacy Policy URL

  • A functional Terms of Use (EULA) URL (we use Apple’s Standard EULA unless we publish a custom one)

  • Restore Purchases functionality
