QR Reader Scanner & Creator is designed to scan QR codes and barcodes, and create custom QR codes, all processed locally on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers
- No Account Creation: Our app does not require user accounts or registration
- No Location Data: We do not access or store your location information
- No Contacts or Calendar Access: We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal data
- No User-Generated Content: Scanned QR codes, created QR codes, and their history are stored only on your device
Information We May Collect
Device and Usage Information
We may collect limited technical information to improve app performance:
- Device type, manufacturer, and Android OS version
- App crashes and performance data
- General usage statistics (which features are used most frequently)
Camera Access
- Purpose: Required to scan QR codes and barcodes
- Storage: Images are processed locally and not stored or transmitted
- Permission: You control camera access through Android Settings
Storage Access (QR Code Creation)
- Purpose: Required to save generated QR code images to your device gallery
- Storage: QR codes you create are saved locally on your device only
- Permission: You control storage access through Android Settings
Third-Party Services
Google Firebase
We use Google Firebase for:
- Remote Configuration: To manage app features and settings remotely
- Analytics: To understand app usage patterns and improve performance
- Crashlytics: To identify and fix app issues

Google AdMob (Advertising)
We display advertisements to support our free app. Google AdMob may collect:

Data Storage and Processing
Local Storage
- QR code scan history and created QR codes are stored locally on your device
- You can delete this data at any time through the app settings
- This data is not transmitted to our servers
No Cloud Backup by Default
Android does not automatically back up app data unless you have enabled Android Auto Backup in your device settings. If Auto Backup is enabled, locally stored scan and creation history may be included in Google's backup infrastructure, governed by Google's privacy policy.
Android-Specific Permissions
Our app requests the following Android permissions:
