Welcome to Deen Buddy – Quran & Hadith. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. As a faith-based application focused on Islamic learning and practice, we keep data collection to what is needed to run the app and keep it free.

Important Notice

We do not operate our own servers and we do not hold user accounts. However, the app is supported by advertising and uses third-party services that do collect certain data, as described below. Please read this section carefully.

Information We Collect

  • Advertising data — The app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the Advertising Identifier / IDFA on iOS), IP address, coarse location derived from IP, and ad interaction data.
  • Analytics data — Firebase Analytics records app language, appearance mode, selected theme, subscription status, and which screens are opened.
  • Crash data — Firebase Crashlytics collects device model, operating system version, and diagnostic stack traces when the app crashes.
  • Location data — With your permission, location is used for prayer times and Qibla. Qibla is calculated on your device. For prayer times, your coordinates are sent to the Aladhan API (api.aladhan.com) to retrieve accurate times for your area.
  • Purchase status — The app offers optional subscriptions. Payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google; we never receive or store your payment details. Only whether a subscription is active is stored on your device.

Local Storage (On Your Device Only)

The app stores the following on your device only:

  • Quran reading progress and bookmarks
  • Prayer, worship and Jamaat tracking
  • Downloaded Hadith collections for offline reading
  • Prayer time settings and location preferences
  • Favorite Hadith and Azkar selections
  • App preferences and theme settings

This data is never sent to us and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

  • Google AdMob — advertising — https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Aladhan API — prayer time calculation from your coordinates
  • Content providers — api.quran.com, api.qurancdn.com, cdn.jsdelivr.net, raw.githubusercontent.com, everyayah.com, d.quranenc.com, used to fetch Quran text, recitations, Hadith, Duas and Azkar. As with any internet request, these providers receive your IP address.
  • App Distribution — Apple App Store and Google Play Store

Your Choices

  • iOS tracking — You may decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt. The app remains fully functional and will show non-personalized ads.
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland — You may grant or refuse consent for personalized advertising, and change your choice at any time through the app's privacy options.
  • Location — You may deny or later revoke location access in your device settings.
  • Ad-free use — An active subscription removes all advertising.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the app displays advertising and collects analytics, we recommend parental supervision for younger users.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests about advertising or analytics data should be directed to Google. You may also contact us at the email below and we will help you.

Data Security

Data stored by the app remains on your device. Data handled by Google is protected and retained under Google's own security practices and retention policies.
